Norway Designs — the design store

Norwegian craft, design, and homeware in a curated downtown shop. The best one-stop place for actual-quality Norwegian goods.

Tied to Oslo

Norway Designs has stood on Stortingsgaten in central Oslo, near the National Theatre, since 1957. The shop curates Norwegian and Nordic design at every price point — Røros Tweed wool blankets, Magnor Glassverk crystal, the full Marius-pattern catalog, Cathrineholm enamelware in its iconic lotus print, hand-thrown ceramics from named potters. It is not where to buy a magnet; it is where to buy something a family member would notice on a shelf twenty years from now.

The shop is laid out by category — textiles and ceramics on one floor, jewelry and paper goods on the other. Sensible Norwegian price tags rather than tourist mark-ups.

What we plan to look for

A single small object — a wool throw, a wooden bowl, a piece of Magnor glass — that will travel home in checked luggage and outlive most things in the house.
