The seasonal coffee cart at the viewpoint car park
A small kiosk at the Stegastein turnout selling coffee, waffles with brown cheese, and bottled water in summer. Don't count on it; come fed.
Tied to Stegastein
Stegastein is a viewpoint, not a town. The only thing to eat at the top is whatever the seasonal coffee cart in the car park is selling — espresso, waffles with brunost (brown caramelized whey cheese), bottled water, a few pastries. The cart shows up most fair-weather days from June through August, and not at all the rest of the year. Phone signal at the viewpoint is unreliable; checking ahead is not really possible.
The honest framing is that this slot exists for completeness. Come fed.
What we plan to do
Pack a thermos of coffee and two smørbrød (open-face sandwiches) before leaving Aurland. Treat any waffle from the cart as a bonus.
